The aim to offer always the best product quality imposed to Cometto, member of the Faymonville Group, the research of a new partnership with a leader company in engine manufacturing.
After a meticulous and focused research, the choice fell on global player Scania.
“Scania's proposal to the Cometto management was to provide a complete and rational solution to their needs” explains Riccardo Moraglia, Italscania's sales manager for industrial and marine engines.
Another positive reason is the accordance to the current emission legislation with Scania engines.
“Italscania was able to meet our requirement, thanks to their concept of modular construction. We can in this way produce a single chassis, independently of the Scania engine to be used and its emissions level, thanks also to the reduced-height cooling package that is used on the entire power range produced by Italscania's partner, Arduini Luigi s.n.c.; this enables us to make considerable savings during the design and production stages." Mr. Lippi explains: “Last year, when the new emission regulations came into effect, we carried out research to identify which brand could fulfill our two basic requirements: to meet legislative standards and our constructional constraints.
Our modular self-propelled electronic trailers, better known as MSPE's, must be sufficiently low in height to allow them to pass beneath a load bearing structure in order to then lift it.
The supply, during 2017, of the first 12 engines of the DC09 and DC13 families with Stage IIIA and Stage IV / Tier 4F emissions ratings, meets Cometto's need for medium/large modular vehicles. For special vehicles for more specific applications, Cometto is awaiting the opportunity to install more powerful propulsion units, power that only the famous and prestigious Scania V8 can guarantee.”
Cometto has developed in cooperation with Scania a very flexible and multimodal solution, true to the new corporate philosophy.
True to our motto: Propelled to the MAX!
